Now you know system is capable activating via KMS, so we can go further (one step at a time, not stumbling ).
KMSmicro V7 hi, it was a good idea to have NetTime running automatic! just 2 little suggestions to heldigard: when running NetTime from the menu it would be more informative if it is not /hide why not setting the ip while starting the KMSmicro (for network access)? I use this script: Code: @ECHO OFF REM Start qemu on windows. REM Modified by: ELDI REM File: 1-1-KMSmicro - Alternative.cmd echo. rem ipconfig set /p IP4=Set IP-Address of KMS Server (Default: 127.0.0.1) ^> if [%IP4%]==[] set IP4=127.0.0.1 cd qemu start qemu-system-i386.exe ^ -smbios type=1,manufacturer=Intel,version=1.01234,uuid=564d81c6-cd3a-d8e4-db29-756df139acb9 ^ -uuid 564d81c6-cd3a-d8e4-db29-756df139acb9 ^ -net nic -net user,hostfwd=tcp:%IP4%:1688-:1688,net=172.20.0.0/16,host=172.20.1.1 ^ -m 256 ^ -rtc base=localtime, clock=host ^ -hda Image\KMSmicroV6.vhd ^ -name "KMSmicro IP-%IP4%:1688" ^ -M pc ^ -L Bios exit
the microKMS server won't activate anything until about 5 - 10 mins after it's booted because it takes a while for everything to load even when it looks ready and you can see the GUI menu you still may need to wait 5 - 10 mins for it to become ready & don't forget to time sync.
From where did you start: USB or local disc? I ran it from both directions and found similar values like you but the long version was from a USB stick with 2.0
Ok, i did a clean install using the VL key and this time the offline activation seemed to work Lets hope it works again in a couple of months time Thank you all for the advice and pointing me in the right direction
@ALL Have to commit a fault by myself, stated here a couple of times ! There is no need to disable UAC! Simply start the KMSmicro-Host by double clicking it, sync time and here you go.... Recommend using the new host provided by heldigard in my sticky, works like charm even from usb-key. Tested on Win 7 and Win 8. Regards
This is the evergreen classic for a windows, isn´t working proper. But the machines, i used for further testing, are far away from a clean install . So if there were no hacktivators or similiar tools used, it should work by simply starting the host and syncing it´s time.
Have you 1. Done a totally clean install 2. used the right KMS key 3. Tried all three methods on page 1 to activate it of course I am assuming you have installed a proper M$ image, so check the Windows 8 install is not a hack
First i would recommend using the new version by heldigard due to it comes from source we know better than the one from the depth of the net . This one definitly does not need UAC beeing disabled.
1. I installed it months ago,Windows 8 Pro RTM x86 (is it because its not working as it is RTM?) 2. I used the volume key NG4HW-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX 3. I only tried this KMSmicro method,as i use Virtualbox and Win 8 is not my main OS(its running in Virtualbox).
Errm...what? Windows 7 Ultimate x86 is my main OS. Windows 8 Pro x86 running in Virtualbox,i put KMSmicro thing by heldigard in C: of Windows 8,then followed the steps. But getting the error in stderr.txt "qemu: PC system firmware (pflash) must be a multiple of 0x1000"
