If you would have taken the time to look at the text file as I said, you would not have posted what you just did.

KUC for 8.1 is trying to remove the next updates from my offline wim but they can't be removed:

    Code:
29394716.3.1.0InstalledUpdate18/03/2014 10:452939471 Windows8.1-KB2939471-x64.msuyes2934018GMREMOVEThis update is superseded. You can REMOVE it! All of the superseding updates are installed.
29496216.3.2.0InstalledHotfix18/03/2014 10:452949621 Windows8.1-KB2949621-v2-x64.msuyes2962409, 2934018GMREMOVEThis update is superseded. You can REMOVE it! Nevertheless, some superseding updates are NOT installed. 2962409
I know this is an old "issue" but i still don't know how to address it. For KB2939471 should i remove it before i include KB2934018?, and the same about KB2949621, should be removed before i include KB2962409 and KB2934018?.

    Thanks

sorry if i oversaw something. but i checked your file:
    Code:
    2014-08-24 13:16:59, Error CBS Failed to resolve package 'Package_2_for_KB2922229~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.1.1.2' [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]
this line indicates that even 2922229 is removed, Package_2_for_KB2922229 is still in the chain. If all components of 2922229 were removed correctly, all of them should point to a previous update.
So if you add a new version of a component dism should only look for installed versions.

What happens, if you try to remove 2871997 or add it a 2. time?

I only get such kind of errors, if i try to remove an update, that has components in the exact same version as an other update.
The problem may be: both updates create the same folder in the winsxs directory.
I solve it (as u do) by re-adding one or more LDR or GDR updates from the update-chain.

Also if a removal of an update does not work (online or offline) re-adding the update my solve it.

    Hi Komm,

My reply wasn't addressed at what you said. It was for "Originally Posted by chrcoluk View Post" who was asking me to repeat what commands I used without looking at the txt file that I posted.

I'll let you know about 2871997 after trying what you said. The image is committed and 2871997 GDR+LDR are flagged as Install Pending. Should I just try and remove 2871997?

    1. You do not have to commit the test.
    2. Yes try to remove 2871997 => if error => add 2922229 and then remove 2871997
    3. try to add 2871997 again. => may result in the same error.

    ---------
if adding/removing of 2871997 does not work, its best to let 2922229 installed and remove it after online installation.
otherwise you may get into a devil circle after the next updates.

komm is kb2976897 removed from your tool? I think I found out why my laptop has been bsod'ing. kb2976897 is installed 2 versions. My main rig which hasnt had any BSOD has the BF version installed but not both. But MS pulled the update.

Okay, same 'Spiel' as before when trying to add 2871997, but this time trying to remove it. The process for fixing it is basically the same. Hopefully 281997 won't get superseded anytime soon.

These 2 updates cannot be removed because they are included as permanent in the wim from the MSDN win 8.1 + update iso. When updating your wim you can remove the two entries from the removal list to avoid the KUC error. You will have to live with those 2 fixes being part of the wim until microsoft brings out a new iso. Just go ahead and add the fixes that replace 2939471 and 2949621.

I do not have MSDN win8.1+update iso installed.
But is there a way to find out if it is the MSDN + update iso?
Maybe KUC could check if 2937200 is installed and then mark those 2 updates as permanent.
If somebody has a packages.txt of this version, please send to my email.

NOT a complaint just a comment:

This will change the way I have been doing my images since I always added .NET 4.5 as a completely separate step after I finished all the KUC updates. I will figure it out... THANKS!!!

KUC will only need .net 45 on the computer you run it. It does not force .net 4.5 installation

    I just make a test:
if i remove RDP 8.1 => it will popup as optional update(2830477).
if i then remove RDP 8.0 => it will popup as optional update (2592687) and also 2965788 will popup as important update (next KUC version will reflect this).
if i then remove the GDR version of 2574819 it also popup as optional update.
i will make some additional test.

Hi komm, I just want to let you know that you can remove the GDR branch of KB2729452-x64, KB2789645-x64 & KB2861855-x64 if you don't have RDP installed. WU will not complain. I just tested it with or without RDP. Thanks for your hard work!

KB2729452-x64, KB2789645-x64 are .NET related updates not RDP

for me they are showing in WU (at least in x86, not sure about x64)

    Edit:
    strange
installed both to satisfy WU, then i checked the Deep Clean feature through Clean Manager which marked them as superseded and removed them, they now no longer showing in WU
