If only komm would open source the database (or at least be open to help with it) then updates could be more frequent
Hi Rick, It looks like komm is MIA (missing in action) , so I am looking for an alternative to service my offline wims. I built a WHD repository and now I need to find an incremental way of updating my current wim files. I guess I could always create a new wim starting with the base, but I want to avoid installng 300+ W7 updates each time. KUC pretty much automated this by only generating Add and Remove cmd files for updating the current wim. If you or anyone else have some alternative suggestions, please let me know.
It has been a while that KUC was updated. Now, with the big November update it would be nice to be able to run an updated KUC on it. The list of updates to install gets longer and I'm also looking for a way to automate integration. Still hoping for komm to return. Cheers.
On a clean install of win 8.1 Update 1 I get this for 6 updates it tries to remove. Removing package 1 to 5 of 6 packages 18:38:54.81 Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Processing 1 of 5 - An error occurred - Package_for_KB2990532 Error: 0x800f0825 Processing 2 of 5 - An error occurred - Package_for_KB2976978 Error: 0x800f0825 Processing 3 of 5 - An error occurred - Package_for_KB2974008 Error: 0x800f0825 Processing 4 of 5 - An error occurred - Package_for_KB2962872 Error: 0x800f0825 Processing 5 of 5 - An error occurred - Package_for_KB2931366 Error: 0x800f0825 Error: 0x800f0825 The command completed with errors. For more information, refer to the log file. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WIN81\KUC-WORK\DISM.log the 6th also fails Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Processing 1 of 1 - An error occurred - Package_for_KB2931358 Error: 0x800f0825 Error: 0x800f0825 If I ignore and proceed with installing new files, it will still ask to remove these 6 updates on every new run. How do I fix?
If you ran Code: StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase you can't-updates can no longer be uninstalled and DISM will kick out such an error. KUC has not been updated since Sept for windows 8.1.
I didnt run that command no, also to be clear and will repeat I had not installed any previous updates it is a clean install of the OS. Is the problem that the app is for 8.1 and not 8.1 Update 1? My 8.1 iso has update 1 pre installed. Shame 8.1 version has been abandoned? I cannot manually install updates on 8.1 either, the IE11 security update downloads to 45% and then sits there forever, with nothing downloading. 8.1 seems buggy as hell vs win7 which is a shame.
