KUC also works fine for me on a fresh install of Win8.1 x64 in VM. I sent komm a msg though to see if he might know what could cause that.
KUC updated my fresh updated install and all went fine. Checking WU it instructs me to install windows-update software first before it can continue. Should I install that ?
Yes, there is a small ActiveX component from MS that you need to download before being able to use WU.
Can the KUC repository updates also be applied to an installation wim that is not en-us? I guess this question could also apply to the other repositories offered on MDL as well. I would like to update a German Win7 SP1 wim and I'm unsure if the repo fixes would break anything when applied to a wim other that an en-us one.
All (or almost) updates are neutral, applicable for any language only very few specific updates doesn't follow this rule IE9,10,11 as example need separate langpack packages in addition to main packages but IE updates are neutral
Once KUC has finnished updating a live system what strategie for updating is advised after Microsoft releases new updates?
komm just wanted to report an error, KB3098785 does no have BF as far as I can see Thank you for your continued support!
Rick, I don't think komm comes here very often anymore. I found it better to use his support e-mail to get his attention.
Hi guys, ran the update on laptop but couple questions. 1 - is a new dont install pending option, should I leave this unticked? I assume is for integration to install media only right? 2 - In last few months has always been 1 update missing but is not added to the copier so I have ignored, this is now 2 updates this month, why is KUC not adding updates to the copier and not alerting which updates I need to manually place in install folder? Win 8.1.
Got issues after april update. On laptop the following updates show as available, never have so many been missed before. Code: 2967917 3077715 2989930 3012235 3013410 3013769 3013816 3027209 3046737 3054256 3112148 3123862 3137725 On desktop its even worse, its offereing me the entire win8.1 update 1 package along with about 20 pre 2016 updates. I dont know what to do, If I install these updates to satisfy windows update will it overwrite newer files and snowball? On both machines KUC says all up to date.
chrcoluk: When you run KUC, are you selecting the "use Satisfy WU updates" option? If that's not checked, you'll see several updates being offered if you go to Windows Update. Those updates are not needed since they're superseded/redundant, but some users still want to install them to get a clean pass from WU. If KUC says you're all up to date, then that's all that really matters. The ones still offered through WU are not really needed. If you do install them to satisfy WU, it won't overwrite the newer files. The newer files will still be the active ones.
all 4 are ticked. I reinstalled the 2 missing rollup updates in windows update, it seemed to not really install anything and just registered them.
