Does anyone know if komm is still offering support for KUC or talked with him lately?. He did not do any updates for August and I have not received any replies from him recently. It's unusual for him to skip a month. Maybe he's just busy or taking a long vacation. Would be good to know what's up in case I need to find another solution for W7/8 offline/online kb integration
adric: komm has returned from his holiday and he hopes to have a new version of KUC released this week.
Small problem. Remove_old.cmd does not get created for me, even though I've checked the checkbox. I also get 172 number of bad packages?
I wonder if he can make meltdown an optional update, the problem is these security updates for Win8 are now been bundles as part of one big rollup patch, so is this compulsory now or is just the way komm has chosen to distribute them?
chrcoluk: You could ask him about it. He has an email address for support issues at the end of his "KUC-Ref.doc" included in the KUC .zip file.
1. If you remove IE 11 from iso but KUC still detects it and is grey out , you cant uncheck, how can you ignore IE 11 updates? 2. Same for telemetry 3. How can you install only security updates?
asache: I would suggest contacting the developer (komm) directly with your questions. See the info in my post just before yours.
How can I tell KUC to ignore 3125574 in it's supersedence lookup ? (I don't want 3125574, nor any Rollups, but I can't find a way to make KUC consider the KB I'm adding to the ignore.txt list...)
komm said: KB3125574 can't be ignored. It replaces so many updates, that the update chain will be broken and the system will not be up to date. The only way would be to delete KB3125574 each time before you run "update.cmd".
I asked him about your issue after you posted. What I posted was his response to your question. KUC does have switches that it can be started with and I also asked him if there was one to ignore KB3125574. He said no. Since KB3125574 can't be ignored, your goal is not possible. As you mentioned, using it makes things much easier/simpler.
