    Some details

Windows 7 Pro upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (activated since release day)
    Vostro 3750 i7 2820QM 16GB
Latest bios with all hidden options enabled
    Crucial M550 512GB MU02 Firmware

The other day whilst messing the boot partition got restored back to the windows 7 boot partition
anyway i was going to do a clean install at some point so did it then

I have done a few of my machines and all have activated just fine on the clean install
    for some reason this didnt

Clearly something i did voided the activation

    here's everything i did
anyone have any idea which one voided the activation as i dont want to run into this again

    Bios options changed

Enable UEFI Boot (windows setup locked up so Disabled it again) (Unhidden Option)
Enhanced Secure Erased SSD then straight after Secure Erased
Temp Set HDD Password to stop Windows 10 from encrypting my hdd with TCG Opal on setup
Disabled Quickboot then re enabled Later (Unhidden Option)
Enabled SR-IOV then disabled after activation failed (Unhidden Option)

The fresh install point blank refused to activate

I didnt want to go trashing my SSD's nand when this fresh install was just fine apart from the activation

    Pulled hdd
    Fitted 320gb Mechanical HDD
    Restored Win7 Ghost image
    Upgraded that to Win10
    It activated Fine

    Shut down PC
    Fitted SSD Back in
The second it fired up it pulled he activation from Microsoft..

Its a touch worrying that i can loose activation from such simple changes

True but it is stated that upon hardware changes that you will lose your activation :tea:

Pretty sure windows is bound to the motherboard not the HDD or SSD anyways. Last I checked this was the way windows worked.
