The solution to this problem is very easy, boot into the BIOS setup and disable UEFI and enable LEGACY, then the keys (electronically saved into BIOS like Windows 10 Home) will not be used, and you be able for install Windows 7 Ultimate or Pro, after apply DAZ loader, install java and flashplayer, after run legitcheck for validate electronically your machine and then after to do a manual update to Windows 10. This is like work for me with many laptops.
From the screenshots the user posted, I think you misunderstand - Windows 7 was installed fine, we can see it is 'Ultimate'. That is not the problem. But when trying to install Windows 10, it will not get the Pro version installed, Windows 10 Home will be installed I imagine we can fix this the same way as you way, but it is better to install as UEFI if we can right So, how can I do this? I will be in the same position as the OP in a few weeks. My laptop will have 10 Home installed, and I will want to install 7 Pro, 'daz' it, then take that activation ticket to a clean install of 10 Pro. Does Windows 10 use ei.cfg files? (And I can easy make one to install as 'Pro' right?) Because that seems like an easy solution if it does, yet a poster in this thread says Windows 10 does not use them... And is it true MS changed something with the activation/upgrade process in TH2? I should install TH1 instead (then upgrade to TH2)? There is a lot of confusion and now I am confused, I thought it was pretty simple until I saw this thread Thanks for all the information!
ok i had this problem too this morning and fixed it - very simple once you know how, just use ei.cfg and pid.txt my embedded home key was ignored and the generic pro key in the pid was used. i think, maybe without the pid.txt home would still be forced... i read that. so, no need to use 10240, i used 1511
There are many, many, many threads about this topic, the ei.cfg or pid.txt will solve the problem with embedded bios oemm keys for 8.x Core/10 Home systems during a clean install. The ei.cfg which gives you the choice: Code: [Channel] _DEFAULT [VL] 0 To get a digital entitlement/HWID for 10 Pro on systems with embedded 8.x Core/10 Home oemm bioskeys i do this: Install win 7 ultimate/pro activated by daz, upgrade to 10240 Pro or use the genuineticket shortcut and do a clean install with the latest (10586 and up) 10 Pro using the ei.cfg shown above. Why use the 10240 iso to perform the upgrade? That version cannot readout oemm bios keys. PS, if the system contains EUFI bios only i use 8.1 Pro with KMSpico and upgrade with 10240 pro iso to get a HWID/DE.
sure, thanks for the information good to learn but as you can see, many people giving answers/help in this thread were wrong/did not know - so a bit confused but yes i personally now know, my system is all set up
