I'm currently running Exchange 2019 in a home lab which I know is end of life but I hadn't planned to upgrade for obvious reasons. Has anyone else moved to SE or will the licensing checks be like painting a big target on my back? A December SU has been released for 2019 (support. MSXXXX .com/help/5071875 ) but it's only for ESU subscribers - anyone know where it's available to download given that MS have published the hash? Exchange Server 2019 Cumulative Update 15 SU6 Exchange2019-KB5071875-x64-en.exe 628CF0463E261BC93C04640486719668F173AD8556711E5C47FFF2B0B7E66D8D
Are there any updates on this topic related to ESU? The February updates have already been released : - Feb26SU (KB5074993, 02/15/2562.037) - Exchange2019-KB5074993-x64-en.exe (SHA256: 7CA0770801EC2B0883801F24A50C5B37FD995B7D8FC446A1776D9F0828D399E3). Do you have any ideas on how to search for a hash in a P2P network?
Bump I honestly thought that I was the only one looking for this when I posted the initial topic, but it seems not. I suspect there are lots of lurkers watching for progress too. Out of interest has anyone dared to try SE?
I run Exchange SE in my home lab, I did an upgrade from 2019 and it went fine, currently the 2019 product key still works but according to Reddit, they will start requiring new SE product keys when CU1 releases sometime this year which is my main concern because hell no on spending a couple grand on a key for Exchange Server and none of the grey market sellers seem to have it.
I looked into this over the weekend & you're right - either CU1 or CU2 would effectively nuke my lab. On reflection I've decided to stick with 2019 and harden my environment in other ways to protect against future vulnerabilities. Still interested in the final SU if someone discovers a copy of it or better still could get it uploaded to somewhere like Usenet!
If that happens, I'd appreciate an article on the various ways you managed to harden Exchange Server 2019, hopefully some form of generic key gets made available for SE as I really cannot be chewed switching to some other Mail Server option, especially because this is meant to allow me to learn Exchange properly for whatever comes down the pipe for my career.
Don't want to say too much but my Exchange VM is pretty much air-gapped from the internet. Inbound mails come in via a 3rd party program which then delivers them into Exchange, outbound mails are sent via a smarthost, some services eg certain types of previews are disabled, others restricted. OWA & ActiveSync can be used but require mTLS via a proxy. There are also aggressive FW rules in place.
Throwing my hope out there as well someone can share latest KB from 8/11/26 - Exchange2019-KB5121574-x64-en.exe
