Quick question...anyone having any issue with win 10 TP going to sleep and remaining asleep? Mine keeps waking up on its on about every 15 mins, to the lock screen. I have not actually used the sleep function in a several years but trying it out due to my hardware upgrades.
Power options in control panel create power plan or if that does not do it you can try repair options How to repair Windows image: In ADMIN Cmd Prompt type sfc /scannow ---------- three times press enter on keyboard if this finds errors try In ADMIN Cmd Prompt Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Press enter on keyboard, wait for it to finish, If this does not fix problem, then With ISO Media in CD/DVD tray: (The same media you installed image with) Type in ADMIN Cmd Prompt DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:wim:C:\install.wim:1 /limitaccess press enter on keyboard, wait for it to finish---C would be the drive letter of your CD/DVD drive If this does not work, sit back, relax several options now: Backup copy of image Reset/Recovery Reformatt partition, install ISO again Hope this helps
Thanks lobo...already did everything but another clean install. I did that yesterday morning but all good advice. Hmm did not do the sfc/ scannow 3 times Good practice though.
Yea, they are making that very hard on purpose for regular people, how you will know if they change there minds is you will get through WU that nag thing in Win 10. I believe on that page, after coffee is that KB you can download that will tell you if your computer is up to snuff for Win 10, try it.
1. The things I know is current Insider will be able to upgrade to RTM. 2 On the other hand they have also stated you must have a valid OS to upgrade even insiders. ( undertstandable I have 2 retail windows keys) I just want to know if I will have to reinstall win 8---->upgrade to win 10------>wipe and then do a clean win 10 install...or I can just upgrade from insider preview to RTM and then clean install win 10. That is the answer none of can seem to get from MS. Just a little annoyance for me if I need that extra step.
the way Im understanding it. if you did a clean install of any insider build, for example 10130. and upgraded to RTM. it wont be activated. if your machine had windows 7 or windows 8.1 and you upgraded that to windows insider builds and on july 29 upgraded to windows RTM. it will be activated.
Correct, on that as of now, but you know how MS is, first insiders were going to get it free, then after 4 million joined, they changed their minds $$$$$
We do not know that for sure, at least i dont think it is possible. It is only for upgrades, not clean installs if i believe.
Since win 10 will run on phones, tablets and pcs i can't imagine anything that would fail that test that was built in the last 10 years.
Seems when win10 is registered from update, this registry remained in servers of MS and then you could do clean install of win10
According to FAQ on insider fourms windows insiders will be the first in line to get the RTM on the 29th.
