If u r trying to install from USB, try to connect on any USB2 Port. Else make sure HDD is detecting in BIOS

downloading windows 8.1 pro x64 speed of ~400KB/s 54.5% 1 hour 40 minutes left i have 12 out of 974 seeds and 25 out of 2525 peers.... i will seed from my laptop for the whole time it takes me to get windows 8.1 installed on my surface pro and configured the way i like it..... i cant seed for to long as i have a crap ADSL Connection here in australia i dont even get 1mbps upload
I think we probably have to wait for the upgrade program. Setup won't upgrade from legit activated prowmc. They seemed to have added a newer activation version that copies over old activation info, but doesn't work on these RTMs IMO when the actual update appears (oct 18?) upgrade using that, then save the activation folder (system32\spp) and replace from a fresh install That is... provided the update keeps your legit activation... I'm kind of annoyed that the rtm doesnt...
You can upgrade Windows 8 Pro (that is using a retail key) 8.1 PRO and activate with retail key. You cannot upgrade Windows 8 PRO (using a MAK or KMS key) to 8.1 PRO. As soon as you try installing or even a upgrade it ask's for your key even if you are using the legit retail key. You enter your key and you can continue (enter a MAK or KMS and it tells you to bugger off its invalid). You can install and activate it by installing 8.1 PRO using the key provided on page one (works for upgrading also) then once you see desktop change product key to your retail one and activate. You can't click "add features" and enter WMC key yet. (i think it says download not available at this time or something.) for this reason making a PROWMC ISO for 8.1 won't be possible at the moment (without changing some stuff around). We need a copy of Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC added and activated to make a PROWMC ISO we can't do this because it won't allow even a legit person with activated 8.1 to upgrade to add WMC even with a legit WMC upgrade key and legit Retail key. As soon as someone has done this and we can work out where activation is saved we can make the PROWMC ISO.
