    What about using a Windows 8 Dreamspark key, would what work with 8.1?

    Cannot get any keys to work so far, haven't tried Enterprise yet just started those dl's. but

    @nitins60 nice work on the OP, you removed the smiles and killed teh gaps in the teeth hehe

    mine are volume keys. so retail works??? PFFT!!!! lol

    Maybe you're only meant to get the free update through the store, not via a fresh install. Windows 8.1 might have different retail keys, only those are accepted in setup then.

    Apologies if this has been answered before............my Windows 8 key (Pro) is embedded into the bios - If I do a fresh (clean) install of Windows 8.1 Pro - will it automatically pick up my Windows 8 Pro key and automatically activate it like it does for Windows 8 Pro?
