    What you got what the phone activation string to phone activate windows. That is not a key.

    Did you have Windows Media Center Installed when you called? Where did you obtain your retail key? Or did you use a MAK key with KMS emulation with the WZ ISO and then add Windows Media Center? The way you did it matters to be able to answer you correctly.

    Worked for me (upgrade, x64 pro, activated online) :) Office is deactivated though.

    Ok very very odd thing just happened. I installed 8.1 Pro x64 using the default key c9wkb one. After installing i was activated when i reached desktop :S. Not only this but i entered my "Free WMC key that i got last year" and then i restarted PC after it installed all files. I was then not activated. I clicked activate and boom.. Activated no phone call no nothing. I tried the same on 2 other machines with the same install media and i had to phone activate the retail key then phone activate the media center one also.. Very odd.

    Backed up my whole SPP folder for future use just in case something happens.

    Tell me if I put a 8.1 core top 8 for a single language, picked up a key from the bios?

    No I don't have Windows Media Center installed just WMP I installed like one of the first releases of win8pro back when it was first released RTM like now

    Did you buy a retail key then and use that to install 8.0 WZ ISO?

    But in any event you will need to install the 8.1 WZ ISO with the key provided and then after install use a real retail key to activate it.

    Why do you guys strongly prefer mega.co.nz? my download there always get stuck.. Haven't you experiencing it? :|

    I downloaded the file from Mega, it said decription error and now I cannot find it on my drive.
    Where is it? Anyone knows? Thanks.

    Better solution is to use thet provided .magnet I just finised download and all hashes matched!

    Saw it scattered all over C partition, in many many tiny 1024kb files. Restarted the download again.

    The numbers you got via phone are not a key so no it will not work. Currently you must have your own retail to activate. I am not sure what or how the WZ 8.0 ISO was set up. I can guess at it but that is all it will be is a guess. I have my own purchased retail keys for my systems.
