I deleted the ef.cfg file and it goes to install but fails

 

Then why did you delete ei.cfg? Put it back and try again, it'll probably work.

 

My setup was on bare metal (real hardware) and it seemed like MTK froze up so I just kind of assumed it wasn't working and activated via an emulator service running on my server.

 

I have it working and on windows media center. Just install skipping the key. Once setup insert a kms windows media center key. Then after restarts and in admin mode run windows toolkit and kms activate.

ths s easy method use dummy key and dnt need to activate by kms we can use retail wmc key " even if we skip we need to ad key after post installation " that may b wrk but i dnt want kms so only this way wrk awesome

i have a doubt if we delete ei.cfg we get upgrade error @end of installation? in vmware clean instal wrk good

 

so can't upgrade with this copy

even my installation failed idunno bcoz of low space or drive prob " no idea " nw i m replacing that ei.cfg and installing keep personal file nly but this time if i gt erro il do clean instal

 

nope it not work, oh well will wait until rtm then.

 

i had 8.1 and upgraded with this new iso, activated , but it says "you cant add features to this edition of Windows" WHEN INSERTING wmc serial number!

i did the upgrade by extracting iso to file with rar, edited ei.cfg [not delete] in sources. after that ran from setup dir and setup like a charm

lost my media center though, any body know a work around for this?
i really like Windows media center.

i did it but lost my media center all else remained
