I took the "ca" folder out before I did the install since I had no idea what it was for My sfc scan fails at 11% Could that be the reason Same problem as others with the Apps not working, and I just Hate the Start Menu Didn't get to play with it a lot, but it boots faster and overall seems more responsive than previous builds. I also installed it on an extra HDD as I also want to wait for a Authorized release. It is nice to Finally be able to click My WIFI icon and have something pop up where I can quickly connect and disconnect
Windows 10 10036 is looking pretty nice but it looks to be nothing more than a re-branded Windows 8/8.1. Notice the output from a DISM command: Command line that ran is dism.exe /Get-WimInfo /wimFile:"D:\Win10x64Ent\sources\install.wim" Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.9926.0 Details for image : D:\Win10x64Ent\sources\install.wim Index : 1 Name : Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Description : Windows 8.1 Enterprise Size : 11,605,576,334 bytes The operation completed successfully.
No real issues here, added my own custom theme with some transparency and blur. ~DP p.s. and yeah that recycle bin is one ugly mother!
Besides, businesses (and especially enterprises) could care less about OS aesthetics. What is important to a business is functionality, functionality, functionality. Now the IT operations side almost certainly cares about OS aesthetics - but they don't make the final decision - the CIO (or more likely than not, the CFO, or VP/Finance) does. Aesthetics makes even LESS sense when it comes to embedded operations - if there IS a public-facing side to such an OS, it will likely be skinned (as SYNC, based on Embedded 7, is today). Consumers care MUCH more about aesthetics than a business, especially an enterprise, would.
Tell me, and be honest - what has changed - hardware wise - between Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, in terms of hardware? Consumer hardware, enterprise hardware, etc. It wasn't hardware issues that kept 8.1 from selling initially; in fact, I seriously doubt it was software issues, either. (The reason I doubt that software OR hardware was the issue is, in fact, the recovering PC marketplace. It largely is NOT 7 that is on PCs that are selling - instead, it's Windows 8.1 - massive UI change and all.) That meant that the reason for poor sales - which started before 8, let alone 8.1, went RTM - was due to the poor economy. Further, what application software broke in 8 OR 8.1? So far, what application software broke in any build of 10 (and has it been fixed as of either 9926 or earlier, or 10036, if you are running it)? So far - with 10's builds - there has been only three games that have broken - all at the same point - the game client. All three games use the same game client, and all are from the same company. Not a single application has broken yet - and that includes 10036. In short, if anything, 10 is performing better than 8 - which was better than 7. I'm not THAT concerned over aesthetics - and I'm especially not that so fixated that aesthetics trumps performance and stability. (Further, why would a business - and especially an enterprise - BE so fixated?) Aren't those goalposts awfully heavy? Yet here you are - moving them.
Had a fellow bring me an old XP laptop today to see what I could do with it. He said he had purchased a new laptop with Windows 8.1 but was about ready to use it as a boat anchor.
Windows 10 build 10036 is working perfectly. Only problem I have found so far was sound on my laptop. Desktop working perfect.
10041.0.150313-1821.fbl_impressive_CLIENTPRO_RET_x86fre is 3 days old ( 14/03/2015 ) Hopefully microsoft will release this build rather than older ones. Today I expect to have a new official build.
Anyone else having issues with Modern Apps rendering at a weird resolution? Only happened since 10036 (upgraded from 9926) and is the only annoyance I really have. All the apps are stuck at a resolution bigger than my physical resolution. So everything drops off the bottom and to the right. In 9926, going from full screen to windowed mode, or restarting the app would fix it, but it appears in this build that isn't the case. A restart hasn't even fixed it. Using the remote desktop modern app (which I use every day) I can see when I remote in, that the resolution is 1644x839. My laptop only runs at 1366x768. It looks like the scaling feature is broken.
Windows 10 build 10036 =crock of s**t Windows 10 build 9926 = works well conclusion wait for official windows 10 through Insider.
sad but true.... since this version is leaked, it becomes pretty obvious to me, that micosoft really wasn't able to release anything! because its bullsh**.
