I think they said it would be done once all useful settings are available. There's still quite a few features not available in it (two notable ones I can think of are Theme selection and a toggle to disable Enhanced Pointer Precision).
It's disappointing news as I'm sure nothing's gonna happen as RTM nears. Its weird that like say windows update is in settings but not in the control panel They had plenty of time to fix this but they didn't
I'm not sure they care if it's there because it will be automatic anyway unless you are on enterprise..and that will be pushed out by company admins.
classic shell menu? btw, is there any word on where they got the english language files for the homebrew isos? just curious
This build + Classic Shell 4.2.2 = Win. @labvxe, @Espionage724, No I hope they wont remove Control Panel, that will mean we will have to rely on that stupid Settings (WinRT/Metro/Modern) App which will probably not work if non of the other modern apps wouldn't work which means we're left with no option at all, its very unreliable, I have no idea why they even went with the Settings app, just to force their modern crap on us. Btw... how do we activate this build?
Back with the previous leak in Chinese ...I did a combination of the latest download pack from MS and removing all the chinese folders from the ISO. There are several ways to make it work though. Everyone needs to realize that builds are written for and comiled in English then the language is added. and the lang.cfg file is changed. So all the English bits are there, however my way vs the correct dism was easier for me for a fast and dirty ISO. Using the correct dism way should make it 100% English with the deletion of zh-cn folders. Orig Lang.cfg is this [Available UI Languages] zh-cn = 3 [Fallback Languages] zh-cn= en-us Notice Fallback language...it is there in case zh-cn folders are missing. modified for the Chinese lang ISO looks likes this: [Available UI Languages] en-US = 3 [Fallback Languages] en-US = en-us
Because Windows 10 is two OS's clumped together, one for computers and one for touch devices. You just can't go from using any of a million and one softwares where everything is consistent (mostly) and everything looks and is spaced out the same (mostly) - to modern apps with hulking great Elephant text and huge spacings designed so ppl with sausage fingers tap on the right thing! It just doesn't look or feel right! - Again!
