I see your point, but I don't see touch ever being a viable alternative to K&M, it's just nowhere near as accurate or long term comfortable to use
no, no, no...it would be a nightmare to have two different finals running around..a disaster. rtm is it, final, the end and anything after that will be done in wu.
it is within the realm of possibilities and has happened from MS before. Never count MS out, on releasing multiples within a few days lol
I think the only time K&M could be replaced would be if we could use our brains to type / navigate by mind alone. Touch as you say not accurate and voice is not ideal if in a noisy environment.
i agree it's just not efficient to wave around with your whole arms in front of a screen when you can do the same work even more precisely with minimal movement of your hands or fingers touch will never replace keyboard and mouse the only improvement for this would be some kind of neural interface
I didn't mind the Start Screen of 8 (kind of preferred it). What I minded was the bs apps included and reliance of UAC. On Windows 7, I could disable UAC, remove a few apps (IE, WMP, Indexing), and life was good. I could use 3rd party apps, and not have a shadow of IE apps just lying around. Windows 8 started a hassle though. UAC now has to be disabled (legit disabled, not the no-prompt bs) through regedit. You also get a ton of limited apps pre-installed. To be fair, this could all be handled with some commands, so I guess it isn't a "big" deal. If anything, Start Screen needs some way to take into account of bezel compensation when Eyefinity is in-use (icons end up right underneath the bezel; needless to say, this doesn't ever happen with the start menu in 7 or 10). Windows 10 for a while was increasing the hassle (more basic system apps broke with UAC disabled), but so far in 10166, it seems to be ok. Edge, Cortana, and OneDrive still stick around even after running the "Modern UI app nuke" command, but hopefully that gets handled later. As for why I remove those apps; they don't do everything that I can do with win32 apps. The two most basic apps (Music and Movies & TV) can't even handle my media properly. Edge is unstable. Cortana doesn't improve my experience at all. OneDrive is ok, but isn't a huge deal either to keep around. Meanwhile, foobar2000, MPC-HC, and Google Chrome handle everything I can throw at it. Basically, I just want an OS that can handle the win32 apps I've been using, and not have a presense of apps installed that I don't need or care for. So far, Windows 10 is bearable, but if I wasn't doing something very specific with gaming right now, I'd easily be back on Linux.
Exactly, with a K&M, the only mistakes are made by us not concentrating If we were forced into a touch only environment, hell..... lol
I agree that the requirement of UAC running is bs, but it's not much of a problem if you disable it through the UAC slider rather than registry.
When has it happened before? You are saying that a million new pcs will be made and 5 million retail cds will be made and then they will have been made with something other than the final code?...impossible. i think they have probably pissed off their partners enough already.
for working in many programs it's so much better not having to go through many folders to find them all i have about 15-25 programs i switch between every few mins when designing games and modeling so the faster i can do this the faster my work get's done thats why metro was a dream for me it made life super fast even for my tablets that i use for modeling
i am stilll shocked they unbanned you at all seeing how you give nothing here but for bad comments and almost no help and bully most users lol i guess the mods where either drunk or paid off
Nice of you to insult the mods, I have the utmost respect for the mods here, they do a damn good job I think you're just annoyed that your little plan failed, and will continue to fail until you yourself are banned for flame baiting Have a good'n
My posts had been deleted many times. I never complain. I just try to behave myself. My replies to some questions sometimes got no responses, frustrated indeed, but I never stop lending a hand while I can. We are brothers and sisters.
The numbers may have been a tad high, the rest was absolutely what i meant. you don't have two versions of final code running loose in the wild.
You are a very helpful pal, I myself learned a lot from your post. Thanks for your contributions, and please keep up your good work.
