I've installedd Build 9901 on my Surface Pro 2, just ran the setup.exe from the iso. Everything is working, except for my display driver. It just shows up as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. With the other builds I didn't have this problem. Is there a way to install the latest Intel HD Graphics? I already tried to manually install the latest by searching for the driver .inf Update: I've got it working by doing the following: -Download zip-file of latest Intel HD Graphics 4400 -Edit the .inf file in the Graphics folder --> change the Windows 8.1 header to [IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.4] -Reboot the Surface to Troubleshoot mode so you can install unsigned drivers. -Manually install driver through Device Manager
Sorry for the newbie question. All the world seems to have the 9901 ISO except me. What is the secret for grabbing it?
The secret is to have the eyes open for the download links (for example within the start post of this thread).
Good to hear about that. I am still on the process of downloading mine. It is 90% done already. I am so anxious to test this particular Build 9901.
the mega link iso was very buggy no apps work at all and cortana is broken app store black and green are broken
0xc0000021a. AMD Radeon HD 6290. I've been digging into this for 3-4 hours now and it seems to be affecting several different types of security software and what seems to be triggering it is errors with low level kernel mode drivers, low level file system drivers and kernel mini-filters. All of which are kind of the basis for any security software these days. If I remove EMET and also remove another kernel mode driver that I use for application control, then I can restart dozens of times and not see that BSOD at all. Adding either one of those two, then I get the BSOD every other or every third startup. It seems there is an internal file system driver that fails initially and then I assume that is what causes the chain reaction of EMET or others bringing the system down when their driver tries to load. It's frustrating when things are random like this as opposed to constant. I've had pretty solid stability with all previous builds (and previous leaked build) so it seems this build may be one to avoid. But then again, who knows. I know others had terrible stability on some of the other builds despite the fact that they were stable for me. I will dig into this for a few more hours. But if I can't figure it out then I'll be forced to go back to the latest Insider build most likely.
There seems to be different sizes of this Build 9901 on the various download links. Which one is better?
Does anybody know if this new black theme could be copied out of the Resources/Themes folder and used in previous Insider builds?
That would be very sad for me after taking more 24 hours to download that file and be told it's not working properly.
@EFA11 I have upgraded the hardware compatibility of the VM from 10 to 11 & then ticked "Boot with EFI instead of BIOS" under Virtual Machine Settings -> Options -> Advanced, then made a clean install.
Please don't post wrong information. The MEGA download link contains a ZIP file which is nothing but the compressed version of the ISO. Please check the hashes.
