I don't look at it as complaining, just sharing your experience. I think we all know what we're playing with here.
The only issue I have with 9901 is that the pc keeps coming up with a message every so often saying that the computer will restart in 1 minute. and no way aroundit that i can see
Unable to install office 2013. My wifi connections also get some error and it wil not show any connections when i tried to install office. Only restating the pc rectifies the problem
I got O2013 installed, but it wouldn't activate with the 3 day trial key, had to use one of my Tech Net keys. Build 9901 is interesting, if nothing else. I think MS made it a "sneak leak" just to mess with our heads. Think about it - 9+9+0+1 = 19............9+1 = 10. AND if you add the numbers in reverse, you get the same answer. Thank you Sgt. Pepper.
I loved all the builds until this one (9901). This has a few issue one of them is I get a command window (dos box) that keeps popping up every few minutes. Almost every day the screen will not display anything when I hit the start button and the only way to get it back is to re-boot. Hey its a beta.. I knew what I was getting in for. I guess from the past I am used to builds getting better and better not worse.
The command worked like a charm . I had this problem too! I did upgrade from Build 9789. Settings wouldn't load! Now it does I'm happy now. Will be using this build until a newer leaks comes out!!! A million Thank You Edit: This post was in page 46, so let me explain a bit. It seems that after a while in Build 9901, the Modern ecosystem breaks, and you can't access it. It keeps bringing some .exe errors. Even though that happens, there's something curious about it. When you launch the programs through the run command, they open. For example, writing "calc" in the run box (Win + R) will bring in the new calculator....
With this one, it'll get rip of the new notification icon, and my balloon notifications are displaying above the system tray.
For some reason using your registry method, I get no balloon notifications at all. Is DisableNotificationCenter added as DWORD or another type?
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer] "DisableNotificationCenter"=dword:00000001 also [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer] "DisplayToastAtBottom"=dword:00000001
I appreciate you trying to help. But it seems I am out of luck with this option as I still get no notifications. Both keys in place and several reboots. I will have to stick with the method that I posted and deal with balloon notifications in top-left of screen until next build. Thank you, though.
Funny thing is that there a lot different problems for different users and different machines! Why's that? What's triggers those different problems? In first line I would think that's driver related, just I could be wrong! Could it be the used environment like different Router/Modem config, LAN or whatsoever? I re-installed 9879 last night and tested directly with Andy Android and it didn't works anymore, which were working before on 9879. Than installed 9888 and tested on that, just got a black screen on Windows start up! will install to day 9841 and test that! All other version, except 9901 I could create an PIN Code! Problems with some special Editors are differs by version used! My famous Game X-Plane 10 I could install but update to the latest version, on any version of Windows 10 TP! That although happens on any version of Windows 8, just to mention! Me think that the proposed delay of the final by MS from first half of 2015 to second half of 2015 is at least partly related to such problems!
