Even though I hope you're right, I'm pretty sure that touchscreens aren't anywhere near accurate enough to do this, they just register touches as big blobs, they wouldn't be able to recognize fingerprints.
I am guessing that these pictures were from the build we will be getting sometime in June 2013 at the Windows 8 press conference.
today is 26 May so its almost a month at 26 June (release date of official preview), If it is true then by 26 june it will be (very) old build, an easy way is to check Windows 8 CP and RP release dates and Compiled dates we will know then how many days to expect between Release and Compilation for Windows 8.1 Preview Edit: Compiled date of Windows 8 RP - 18 May 2012, Release date - 29 May 2012, Difference = 11 Days Compiled date of Windows 8 CP - 17 Feb 2012, Release date - 29 Feb 2012, Difference = 12 Days by these dates you can expect the Official Preview build to be compiled on 14-15 June 2013 unless MS change its strategy regarding Official Preview builds.

I know that!! And that's why I didn't think any more about any leaks from those not so reliable members! Even if some of those really would come, I wouldn't use them!
