Windows 8.1 Preview/Final will be delivered through the store, so yes, you can upgrade from windows 8
The final yes. The preview not I think. I expect the preview be a downloadable ISO just like the Windows 8 previews.
This is not abut what we think and expect, MS made clear that the preview is going to be available through the store, period. Now perhaps, we believe, is going to be available also as an iso or executable.
Microsoft toolkit doesnt work hangs on: Processing and ---------------------------------------- Installing Any Matching Volume Keys. ---------------------------------------- Attempting To Activate Microsoft Windows
where does it hang? on 9385? You probably did not enter the correct key during install. Go and get the right one
Oh, this will be funny for future 8.1 users. If MS did a trick, MTK might not work, at least at the beginning when RTM is out
Hello All, What`s the latest REAL build of 8.1 x64 and from where i can get it, i know many are FAKE, and i dont want to read 55 pages of comments only to find out this. Also is better to wait for the Preview that i understand will come out at 26 June right? or it may be leaked earlier? will it be available as ISO so i can do a CLEAN INSTALL or only upgrade thru app store with win 8? THANKS in ADVANCE!
Preview will be out in like 7 Days, I would wait. BUT the last x64 leak that went public was 6.3.9369.0.FBL_PARTNER_OUT14.130324-1300_IMP_CCSA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5.iso AFAIK, if there was another x64 I could only assume it would be in these 55 pages As far as clean installs vs app store only, no idea for certain until it is available. MS can be predictable, but not always. My personal belief is that there will be an iso and an app store download (one way or another).
Thank you for the answer! ill wait Another question, usualy how much time does it take from the release of the preview till it hits RTM status?
From what has been released to the public, I would again assume between August and September. It really would depend on the feedback from the preview and what MS would decide to do from there. It isn't like they have a good record of releasing polished RTM's when "not so polished" RTM's come out from time to time. So even with feedback, what we would get and what time it goes RTM is.. who knows hehe
