That's because update 1 doesn't include any previous updates, at least the current leak doesn't, not sure if that will change for RTM.

 

Update 1 doesn't need include previous updates because it is part of updates of windows 8.1.

instal the update 1 without any rollup updates on win 8.1 pro clean installation @my friend pc works like charm worth taking a risk

Good news Wzor to announce that Windows 8.1 Update 2014 may be RTM sign off before 23 february. (Windows 8.1 update 1 ).

I think windows 8.1 update 1 is designed for xp users (to move to 8.1).

 

lol what? That makes absolutely no sense. People will upgrade due to XP no longer being supported officially.

 

in my opinion they will make the right choice

 

...and I'm sure a lot of them will upgrade to Windows 7 instead of 8.1, especially on the enterprise-side.
