leaving insider preview

    as this update labelled windows as TH2, can I quit insider preview and stay with TH2 ? I do not want to be be downgraded to a former rls

    thanks for the link which shows, if I get it right, that only leaving after a general public rls ensures you keep it, I will then wait until the days after nivember 2nd.

    most likely u will get TH2 even if your in the insider program.......besides u can always d\l later here and do a clean install.

    I have RTM build 10240 activated via KMS.

    I'd like to upgrade to 10576.

    If I got this right, then if I upgrade and at some point decide to stop receiving insider builds,
    then I'll remain to build 10576 and only get "maintenance" updates until the next RTM/stable build is released?

    And, after upgrading, if I decide to go back to build 10240
    the only way is to clean-install?

    once MS release another Insider build, the precedent build is considered dead for them. If you don't know how the insider preview program works, it's wise to stay on General Release/RMT builds.

    Until Microsoft release th2 to the general public sometimes next week, all the current builds are beta builds not meant to install in a production environment or long term.
