As best I know, you will have to use Lenovo SLIC and OEM Cert. I used them when I edited a Phoenix from my Thinkpad T43 with help from Yen, and am looking for a test machine before really flashing on my main-stay machine.

I have a modified BIOS available for a LenovoT43 (2668-6FU). Yen helped me make the modification, but it is my main machine, and I don't think I have the gonads to take a 60 / 40 chance of turning my laptop into a hockey puck. I would be happy to share with anyone willing to give it a test. Please PM me if you are interested. Enjoy...

Please, would someone who can translate between Chinese and English take a look at http://www.zzthink.com/archiver/?tid-579.html ? It appears that there maybe a way to use WinPhlash to insert the Lenovo SLIC module onto Thinkpads by editing phlash.ini and having the SLIC code.ROM. Please look at or near the bottom of the page. Thanks!

I suggest you to talk to Yen again. He knows your situation...

    as for translation: http://translate.google.com/transla...&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=/language_tools
    ...
You can use Google Translator for such problems. The translation may be very crude, in fact it often is, but it should be possible to extract information from there.

There also is an automatic tool for ami bioses (uses superstatic v3) which is really easy to use. Just load the file and press a button.

I did translate the page, but was far from perfect. While I get what the general gist is, the specifics allude me due to the language barrier. This technique is for a Phoenix BIOS, not Phoenix/Award or AMI.

Working Lenovo (and others) SLIC BIOS(s)!

Well, I found a site with a SLIC BIOS for just about any laptop, including Lenovo. I updated my T43 with ver. 1.29 (most current) and it worked like a charm! :D

    Download the package at: http://rapidshare.com/files/63302664/Lenovo.rar.html

The package contains the SLIC modified *.ROM file, Winphlash 1.6.5.6, the appropriate *.xrm-ms file and a text document with various keys. All the things that are needed to add a SLIC BIOS to any Lenovo T43 or T43p.

    Works for Lenovo ThinkPad T43, T43p (2668, 2669, 2678, 2679, 2686, 2687)

Remove any boot and/or hard drive password(s) (the password(s) can be put back after the flash). Extract the files from the *.rar, unzip Winphlash into a folder on your desktop, run Winphlash, In the "Specify new BIOS file:" point to the *.ROM extracted from the package, select "Backup BIOS and Flash BIOS with new settings", then hit the "Flash BIOS" button at the bottom. This was all run under windows XP. After flash and reboot, SLIC (Lenovo) is found with Everest.

I believe I can download other SLIC modified BIOS's for other laptops, including Lenovo, HP, Dell, Acer, Sony... maybe others. Please ask, I'll try to get. Enjoy...TPB

    http://rapidshare.com/files/63307554/X31_X32-SLIC.rar.html

Please remove any boot and/or harddrive password first. Will not activate until software mod is removed. Enjoy, TPB

    Here it is... http://rapidshare.com/files/63320049/LenovoX60.rar.html

The OEM ID and OEM Table ID are as requested. I do not have the *.xrm-ms file that matches "LENOVOTP-7B", but I included "LENOVOTP-79" Please see instructions above... Enjoy, TPB

    Here it is... http://rapidshare.com/files/63321842/LenovoX60_t_.rar.html

Hope it helps. I do not have the *.xrm-ms file for "LENOVOTP-7F" to activate but I included "LENOVOTP-79" This is not a BIOS I made, it was made by others and I am just passing it along. Forum users did report success. This is for Vista activation only, does nothing for Broadcom NetXtreme. Enjoy, TPB

I've run google translator and got that:

" I am sorry, please do not download from the outside of this forum to link the annex."

It seems that you have to be registered there...

    Thankyou very much!

I've loaded the modified bios and obtained the required LENOVOTP-79.XRM-MS file (and the relevant registration key). Everest Ultimate Edition indicates that the SLIC table has been added:

    FieldValue
    ACPI Table Properties
    ACPI SignatureSLIC
Table Description Software Licensing Description Table
    Memory Address 2F6F6DD0h
    Table Length 374 bytes
    OEM ID LENOVO
    OEM Table ID TP-79
    Creator ID LTP

As I am still running Windows XP, I haven't tried to activate Windows Vista.

I would like to make a request for the SLIC modded BIOS for the Thinkpad R60e.

I've successfully loaded and activated Windows Vista Ultimate on my Thinkpad R50e using the R50e modded SLIC BIOS.

I've tried to reverse engineer the modded BIOS, but have not been successful. I made a backup of the original unmodded BIOS, using WinPhlash, but it would not load into Pheonix BIOS Editor 2.2 - unless I trimmed the BIOS to exactly 1MB.

I've managed to find a modded BIOS for the ThinkPad R60e, R60i (Types: 06xx)
    http://www.usbbbs.com/dispbbs.asp?boardID=14&ID=4062&page=1

    Version:7EETC6WW (2.16) http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-64393
    Release Date:2007/07/16

The required file is R60eR60i-SLIC.rar and can be obtained from: http://www.usbbbs.com/viewFile.asp?BoardID=14&ID=3598

But you have to be domestically registered.

    Hope it helps!
