    For some reason my machine never came with one, Windows came unactivated with my machine. I asked Lenovo if this is normal, and they said it is for some machines.

    If anything the software on my machine is a bit messed up. It didn't even came with a restore image on the product recovery partition.

    a suggestion: before playing with risky solutions, test a flash with latest bios (8fuj04us) of Lenovo. But i persist to think that lenovo must solve this issue under waranty.

    I actually tried that last night, official Lenovo flash AND using Winflash. No dice there.

    I tried talking to them already, problem is explaining the issue to the Lenovo reps.
