Hello, I just got a Intel 6300 AGN wireless card and of course, got the 1802 error message on boot. Looking around, there are a bunch of modded BIOS's available for the W520. I know the error can be bypassed by changing the device and subvendor ID's in the BIOS. How are the whitelists completely removed/disabled though? Looking at a binary diff of the original BIOS and a modded BIOS (without whitelist), there seems to be many, many bytes that are changed (I haven't decompressed the BIOS files yet). Would a BIOS expert worthy mind posting a guide on how to remove the WLAN whitelist? (Maybe the WWAN whitelist too?) Thanks in advance! Here is my system info: Manufacturer: Lenovo Model: W520 Bios revision: Any Bios Type: Phoenix SecureCore UEFI
I need the full specs for your laptop Model: W520 (BIOS VERSION/BIOS ID/MODEL TYPE-a serial found typed on your laptop or in bios)!
@kukubau and @qtm: Rather than getting a premodded BIOS, I would like to learn how to mod one myself . Here is the information you requested anyway: BIOS version: 1.30 (8BET50WW) Model: 4270-cto Firmware revision: 1.23
