Hello, Would anybody be so kind as to help me with a white-listed version of the 1.38 Lenovo W510 bios? I would like to be able to install unsupported wireless cards, which currently the BIOS is blacklisting. Request: Remove whitelist from BIOS for adding different WLAN card -Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : Lenovo W510 (4391B84) -Bios Revision : 1.38 / 30 Jun 2011 -Bios Type : Phoenix -Bios Link : httpx://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/6nuj22us.exe -RW-everything of ACPI: http://www.mediafire.com/?eqc77c0ntn57bfe Thank you very much in advance!
Hello, I just got a Intel 6300 AGN wireless card and of course, got the 1802 error message on boot. Looking around, there are a bunch of modded BIOS's available for the W520. I know the error can be bypassed by changing the device and subvendor ID's in the BIOS. How are the whitelists completely removed/disabled though? Looking at a binary diff of the original BIOS and a modded BIOS (without whitelist), there seems to be many, many bytes that are changed (I haven't decompressed the BIOS files yet). Would a BIOS expert worthy mind posting a guide on how to remove the WLAN whitelist? (Maybe the WWAN whitelist too?) Thanks in advance! Here is my system info: Manufacturer: Lenovo Model: W520 Bios revision: Any Bios Type: Phoenix SecureCore UEFI
Hello, I've tried this morning to flash with the istruction you made, but it doesn't work. I think the problem is that I have Windows 7 x64 but WinPhlash is for 32bit system, isn't it? I have tried to check for a 64bit version of WinPhlash but when I check the files inside 32bit WinPhlash vs 64bit WinPhlash folders, there are a lot of different files so I don't understand which are useful and which aren't to copy to 64bit folder. Can you make a 64bit version so I can try to flash? Thank you again P.s. My BIOS version is 6DET70WW, I have read it from msinfo32
HI, Sorry for my Late reply, I was on holiday. So the RSDT is: LENOVOTC-03 I hope this helps. We have only a few days to activate Regards
What doesn't work? Isn't your laptop recognizing the new wlan card or you can flash the bios at all??? Please give details! Here is the 64bit WinPhlash+Bios. Only the utility is specific. Lenovo_x200_(7459N23)_6DET70WW(3.20)_Lenovo[LENOVO-TP-6D-LTP]2.1.BIN_SLIC2.1_Lenovo_SLP Run WinPhlash64.exe->Flash Bios without changing any settings.

Thank you now works perfectly, I have installed another WLAN and it works. With WinPhlash.exe (32bit version), after I have clicked on Flash button the problem, the program kill itself (after few seconds) because it wasn't compatible with windows 7 x64. Thank you again

@kukubau and @qtm: Rather than getting a premodded BIOS, I would like to learn how to mod one myself . Here is the information you requested anyway: BIOS version: 1.30 (8BET50WW) Model: 4270-cto Firmware revision: 1.23
question about W510 mod kukubau.. will this mod work for any W510, or just for the one where the rw-everything report above was made ? (mine is a Thinkpad W510 / 4389-2DG with bios rev. 6NET77WW (1.38))Thanks in advance

Hello, could someone please repost the BIOS without whitelist? The latest BIOS version is 1.38. It will be also appreciated if it is redone with the new BIOS. ThinkPad W510 (4318CTO) Thanks a lot.
