Why would you want it without the whitelist? It will work just fine as it is. rw-everything report needed. What bios ver? 6LET77WW or 6NET77WW? Same question to those above.
W510 mods @kukubau humm, thnxs for your quick reply. (i'm already running 1.38 - so no need to reflash it, i suppose) it's just that i'm still 'confused'/'a bit conservative' as in the past the white list mods for this particular thinkpad had been afaik always different for 6Nxxxxxx and 6Lxxxxxx models (i think the ones using the former are the dual core ones and the later the quad-core ones). Actually the 'zender method' seemed to modify != files for either subtype (yes, i tried to do the homework before resorting to the PROs ) (Your mod (according to the name you gave to the file) seems to be for the 96LET77WW (and i have the 6NET77WW) and that is why i asked for guidance in 1st place ). So, your saying your mod approach is just different, and applies to _all_ W510 subtypes (96LET77WW and 6NET77WW). All the best, (sorry for having replied to your PM in the open as i haven't enough posts here to do PMs. )
since Lenovo's software cannot detect the correct hardware, so you cannot use wwan with FN+F5. I can use HP UBI 2000 working well with x201 tablet and Lenovo's software
I'm trying to activate my Lenovo ThinkPad T520 4239 CTO. I have done a couple of BIOS modifications myself, for DELL and HP bioses, but never for ThinkPads. In the past this meant taking an original BIOS, doing some changes, flashing the UNmodified bios, and then the modified BIOS. But now it appears to be something new, called whitelist. I started looking here, and I saw "whitelist" mentioned many times, as if besides having a SLIC 2.1, you need to have or not have a whitelist, but I can not seem to find a good explanation. Can somebody give me a 2 lines starter explanation or point me to some link? Tried searching the thread, but search is not good, and I rather do not read 3000+ posts. Thanks.
