    Hallo Serg008, the Bios file works fine.
    I don't have the 1802 Error and the slic is also working. Many thanks for yor help.

    Thanks for the feedback.
    Try to clear/reset security settings, read "User's guide" and use google to find solution for that.

    Thanks for the BIOSmod file. I made an image out of this file
    but it would not boot from this. How do I make this BIOS upgrade bootable?
    My laptop does not have OS installed so far.

    Just to confirm: although that BIOS lacks SLIC, the utility (v0.09) does work with it on the G550. Thanks again :)

    EDIT: probably this new utility should me moved into the sticky post, given the one there (0.08) failed for me.
