Unfortunately the phlash16 utlity from original CD refuse to flash the new ROM (i have renamed file to ROM.WPH to make it find it) first the utility informs me that the checksum is wrong than if I override it with 'Y' it tryes and informs that the lenovo table (?) is wrong and hte only choice is to reboot.
Could you tell me or redirect me to the single proper procedure of upgrading X61 Tablet BIOS with USB stick, I know how to make USB stick that has DOS on it (dd is neat :) ) but than i am running dark

The original bios package is for Windows only.
Have you tried to update the bios using WINUPTP.EXE file?

    Hello,

I am going to Lenovo service next week, and they will probably give me a money back for my laptop and I would like to ask: I used SLP marker to enable SLIC 2.1 on it, is there some way how could I disable it back to original state, please (so no SLIC 2.1) ?

It's Lenovo ThinkPad Edge e520. Thank you for a help :)

I currently have Windows 8 Beta x64 installed and would really like not to reinstall x86 version just for BIOS upgrade procedure. Is it possible to upgrade BIOS from Windows PE/RE or does it lack some kind of drivers/dlls?
