    Thanks. I guess you were referring to standard procedure about upgrading to the latest BIOS, since I don't see any BIOS releases for Lenovo IdeaPad S400 on their website. Unless you have other ideas about the particular BIOS for IdeaPad S400, I'm going to use the mod above.

    Hi Serg008.
    My T43 Model 1871-W3C is running again. I could only repair with LPT_boot block jumper. but now i am happy again and ready for more testing :)

    re above when the machine is off press the "NOVO" button on the right of the power button and select BIOS setup when the choice appears.
