Do you want to try an "Emergency BIOS flash" method ? 1. Clear the USB key (FAT16 or FAT32) 2. Rename the backwl.bin as VIUS3.bin (or BIOS.bin) 3. Put the file to the USB key you cleared in step 1 4. Plug it in the PC. 5. Press Fn+R+"power button" to power on the system (it should start flash the BIOS automatically) I think the netbook rebooted automatically. (If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off ) (Try this procedure with (or without) the notebook's battery) Please post results
Once again, thanks for all your attempts to help me. The steps above did not work, I tried all combinations of Fn+R+Power, Win+R+Power, Win+B+Power, Fn+B+Power etc. Both with and without a battery and both with the filename as VIUS3.bin and then renaming it to BIOS.bin. The emergency flash just did not kick in. The one thing that I did accidentally run into was the "Advanced" menu of InsydeH2O BIOS (as I tried it with a F2) and there were many yummy options there. For a moment I thought, this is it, it should work now. But after enabling the Wireless card again, I ran into the same error "Unauthorized.." I wouldn't say there hasn't been any progress though, since I've definitely learned a lot from this whole fiddle-operation. I'm sorry to have wasted your time though. Unless you can think of anything else, thanks a lot for all you've tried to help out with.
