Once again, thanks for all your attempts to help me. The steps above did not work, I tried all combinations of Fn+R+Power, Win+R+Power, Win+B+Power, Fn+B+Power etc. Both with and without a battery and both with the filename as VIUS3.bin and then renaming it to BIOS.bin. The emergency flash just did not kick in. The one thing that I did accidentally run into was the "Advanced" menu of InsydeH2O BIOS (as I tried it with a F2) and there were many yummy options there. For a moment I thought, this is it, it should work now. But after enabling the Wireless card again, I ran into the same error "Unauthorized.." I wouldn't say there hasn't been any progress though, since I've definitely learned a lot from this whole fiddle-operation. I'm sorry to have wasted your time though. Unless you can think of anything else, thanks a lot for all you've tried to help out with.
Thanks! It found 2 flash ICs: MX25L6405D (8MB) - 16 pin MX25L3205D (4MB) - 8 pin Which one is the correct one? Krabs mentioned 8-pin EEPROM on E530, but the size of 8-pin EEPROM on T530 confuses me - it's smaller than even compressed BIOS image.
BIOS is in the smaller, 4GiB chip. The larger 8GiB chip is used for misc features like certificate storage, TPM, DMI information Serg008, to get that E530 to work with new adapter, did you just replace the PCI ID in the file, or did you have to do FCC IDs? Did you modify any conditional jumps in code?
