Hello, I'm using X201 with wi-fi whitelisted bios. I want to update bios to a newer version. I found one in this thread. Instructions file for this bios says: "FLASH ORIGINAL (non modified) bios, then, after reboot - flash modified bios !!!". Will my thinkpad reboot with original bios? Or I will need to remove wireless card first and then reboot?
you can not boot with original bios , you must remove the wifi card first and then flash the new whitelist bios like you said
i dont know about that but when i flashed original bios with my whitelisted wifi card installed i saw that you cant even go to the bios settings, it stuck on power on with a message to remove the card... but i have successfully flashed over my previous whitelist bios without flashing the original first, but my previous bios had already the same ECP ID: 1.24 only the BIOS ID: 1.39 from 1.37 changed with the new bios update. (all this on my lenovo thinkpad x220 i dont know if it works on other laptops) either way you do it at your own risk ...
