1. unpack the archive to, e.g., C:\UPDATE 2. run 7luj25us.exe (from .\Original\ folder as Administrator (right mouse click - as Administrator) 3. reboot-->go to the BIOS & load bios "Defaults" 4. run WinPhlash.exe from .\Modified\ folder as Administrator (look Readme included at first) (01AF000_SLIC-WL.ROM - modified bios) 5. reboot --Load BIOS "Defaults"

Hi again Serg008. Might be a dead end here, but I've gotten your modded ROM loaded into and recognized by InSyde H2OFFT (both 5.31 and 5.41 versions). I've edited platform.ini to the point that when launched, the InSyde utility gets to the "don't unplug...etc.." warning, but when I start the flash it errors out as below: View attachment 27050 NOOB question here: If it turns out that flashing this modded ROM is not possible, might it be possible to replace an existing whitelist entry with the hardware ID of the card I want to use and maintain the so-called "secure" nature of the image so I can flash it with the InSyde tool? I'm feeling like I really screwed up buying this damn thing.. didn't even know hardware "whitelisting" existed until I tried to put a better WLAN card in here and decided I would go on my own fool's crusade to learn about it and try to beat it. Thanks again for checking it out
Upon opening the WinPhlash , click "Advanced Settings" then check and uncheck the boxes so it looks like this: ("Flags" Tab): [ ] Verify BIOS part number [ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different [ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer [ ] Verify BIOS image size [ ] Verify BIOS checksum [ ] Zero block before erasing [x] Verify block after programming [x] Disable Axx swaping automatic detection (if present) [ ] Clear CMOS Checksum ("DMI" tab) "Update": Select "Update the BIOS and not DMI"
Please reply when you can, even if to simply say "What you want is not possible". In that case, I can move on and buy a machine that is not crippled this way. Thank you
