I want to remove the 1802 error from my T42 and have tried flashing this one as well as 2 others with similar changes I found elsewhere, and with 3 versions of phlash16.exe, using a freeDOS boot key. They all give the error:

BIOS ROM file may be corrupt. (Extended checksum not zero)

    Continue anyway? (y/n)

I have aborted each time, but is this a real error? The modified ROM files were all the same size and I expect from the descriptions that they had the same change, done by different people. I tried 2 downloads of SERG008's file. If this is a real error, anything else I should do?
    Thanks for your help.

copy 3 files from "Modified" folder to pure DOS bootable USB stick, boot to DOS and run "flash.bat"

The CPU list shouldn't affect an upgrade to a faster CPU I went from the stock CPU to the intel 9800 had no problems all it did was start up a little faster.

My question is what should I see when I make the .bat file and run it in the modified folder. I ran it didn't see any windows open up like Lenovo's does when flashing the bios and didn't say I had to reboot not sure if it worked. When I ran the WINUPTP from the Slic+Wlist folder, it said the same BIOS was already installed and I didn't go any further. I see I have a flashbl.bak file with today's date and time does that mean it worked?
    Thanks
