ZOMG! Thank you very much, all went smoothly Created a 4g usb to a bootable DOS util Extracted zip content to USB Rebooted and read USB Located and ran FLASH BAT (I was concerned about a warning which showed, but last line said press any key to continue).. After a few seconds the bios was flashed, rebooted, enabled wifi Loaded windows, installed driver and currently surfing the interweb! Sorry about about the confusion, I just realized where the DELL info came from. I had a used DELL notebook which just died after a few weeks (LCD crapped itself), and so I needed to replace it, hence this S400. So I've removed the new SSD from it to the S400 and in upgrading the WIFI i stumbled upon this issue.. which lead me to investigate and this awesome forum! Now I'll format the SSD to run a fresh window. zomg.. I can't pm yet... Thank you so much for the help!
Hi, Have a W520 running pre-installed Windows 7 Pro that I would like to remove the whitelisted limitations from, if possible: Modell: 4284-4DG (42844DG)BIOS: 8BET62WW (1.42) Primary goal is to install a Intel 7260AC WiFi-card, but I'm not much for this kind of limitations, so... Specs on Intel 7260AC: Intel 7260HMW (I also may want to "upgrade" to a Loader-modded Win7 Ultimate in the near future - or, of course, W10) R.//
Revised - Mod confirmed working, so Iwas able to add the AC7260 card! GREAT! (Though a new problem surfaced... The AC7260 seem to have really baaad performance... Indicates 486Mbps in the Status view but the real transfer rate against local server is no more than approx 40Mbps...)
