No question about it, thinkpads are far superior and are enterprise quality machines... while the ideapad was a "toddler" consumer product. Yet when my t61 got boosted... I swore to never spend that much on a mobile product again (especially considering that for the same money I could build an i5 AND a phenom II desktop that kicks ass and takes names). I digress though... if you have time, let me know what type of success you have with the BIOS. I am interested in hearing why slictool 128 is failing to insert 2.1 overwrite. Much thanks.
Guys tell whether someone has already flash Bios to fly 2.1 to Notebooku ThinkPad T500 and where he has been corrected in the Bios Slic 2.1. Thanks!
I noticed 2 or 3 for the Thinkpad R40 as well now. Is that BIOS just unmoddable? Curious. It can be extracted by renaming the .exe to .rar but no clue if it's doable... I think someone did it in the Vista threads but the links are very dead now.
The original 2.0 modification seemed to work fine (comes as R40.rom with winphlash)... 2.1 flashed, Thinkpad seems to be dead. No BIOS screen just whirring drives and nothing ever happens. So... I guess the moral of the story is don't use it. Oh well. Erm... anyone know where I might get a new BIOS chip?
