Hello, I'm looking for an old bios mod for the Thinkpad Z61m 9452-J3G, last official Bios version 2.27, with removed whitelist if possible? would be great to give it a last chance to survive )) Thanks and Cheers

    Hello,

I would like to reactivate a Lenovo Thinkcentre A55 (9265) with a Lenovo I946-F board (WinXP updating to Win7(10))
I have experience in Award Bioses, also worked on the Thinkcentre Phoenix bios with Phoenixtool 2.73 and reflashed the bios.
Slictoolkit indicated an oem certificate error (yellow)
I used a Lenovo 2.1 slic bin, but the certificate I think was 2.0.
Could some one please post a suitable IBM/Lenovo 2.1 certificate (Lenovo slic 2,1)?
    Many thanks in advance

    SLIC-dump ok in Slic-Toolkit? Screenshot?

SLIC 2.0: can activate Windows Vista
SLIC 2.1: can activate Windows 7.
For Lenovo-SLIC 2.1 only one cert exists: LENOVO-68351C09.XRM-MS

Look at second screenshot: You have different marker and pubkey, they don't match, that will cause the signature error. So you have to find the failure while building bios.

Lenovo- and HP-biosses are sometimes a hassle for mods.

    Many thanks for your info.
This HEX editing would be too difficult for me and as a result: fingers off from Phoenix bios.
All my Gigabyte boards went fine, even with Dell slics and certificates.
    Perhaps I send a message to Serg008.

After opening the bios-file with Phoenix-tool, you will find a DUMP-folder with many files (=parts of bios). You can edit files before pressing "go", perhaps only a few ID-strings, marker or pubkey had to be edited.

    But in which area hex-editing?
Change the Pub key in the Bios to match the slic file or change the key in the slic file to match the pub key?
Tested in a hex-editor to change all TC-20 spots in bios file (no change to pub key at all) and to change all TC-xx in the slic file to TC-20 (resulted in a invalid digital signature of the file) and no effect after flashing.
DidnĀ“t find a tool to change the marker entry. Is there any?

    Yes.
Only difference to yours are some edited strings from "LENOVOTC-2O " to "LENOVOTC-5M " and i used a different SLIC-table, but for activation doesn't matter.

Yours has the "LENOVOTC-5J"-table instead, what also should fits to the pubkey: MOD_4A00.ROM is the pubkey, which fits to all SLIC-tables from Lenovo; compare it in any hexeditor, the bytes from 24h to BFh are the same. So no need to change the pubkey, but the header is different, OEM-ID and OEM-table-ID.

Your rw-report shows no active SLIC-table, not even for Vista.
Before updating: Do also a backup with flashing tool.
