I just downloaded the file and unrared it with no problem.

What version of Winrar are you using? You need to install the newest version of winrar to unrar this file.

    Hi,
just go to the second post of this thread and pick your wanted BIOS, X60 is there and also one for the T60 (don't know if it's compatible with T60p).
    Cheers,
    Spiff

i dont khow how or why you worked so hard, but i believe you're the very good men! thankx for helping me, nice work! if i can do something for our forum, just ask and we'll do it together. i see that the version that i've downloaded was not updated on the list of LENOVO Modified BIOS, you should do this for other people troubleshooting without posting questions like this ^^ again, thankx alot!

Please forgive my ignorance, but could someone direct me to some instructions on how to apply this modified BIOS. The X40, as with many other laptops, does not have a floppy drive. The archive contains several dos files, the IBM Windows flash utility, and the BIOS image. Am I supposed to just run the flash utility? It seems to have no effect. Am I supposed to make a bootable flash drive with the dos files. Please point me in the right direction. I suspect there are directions in this thread, but it's 156 pages long... Cheers

Nevermind, I'm onto it. Just run the .exe and the system reboots to dos mode and runs the flash utility. I see that I will have to downgrade the BIOS to an earlier version first.

Yes, the SLIC 2.1 BIOS patch for the X40 works (thank you very much), but it does not remove the 1802 unauthorized wireless card error.
