sry i forgot to mention what im using Im using Ubuntu mini.iso 17.10.x with budgie installed Im looking to make them work together the system will startup with openbox or qtile and with command will start budgie desktop without logging off
OK, it's Linux Mint with budgie. Shouldn't make a difference, just follow the instructions and the advice in the link above. Usually, when you have multiple desktops installed in LM or Ubuntu, you must log out and log back in to switch desktops. The command I gave above is really meant to be used if budgie crashes for some reason and you need to force a restart.
