From the article: Security is a big challenge for all businesses, and the DoD's decision helps Microsoft positon Windows 10 as a secure alternative to Windows XP and Windows 7. "I think it's the best security proof point Microsoft could have," says Moorhead. "This at a minimum says Windows 10 as a base is really, really secure."
So Microsoft paid them off, to advertise that even the DoD trusts Windows 10, so it can't be spying on you - so everyone else should follow suit? Nice try MS
It was mainly created for the U.S. government / military / defense / DoD, so why it should not be used as soon as possible? >= 10586.112 (out of my sight) is 'RTM'-Build and the best win of all time ...
The DOD and their contractors will all be using LTSB which in conjunction with a locked down network will still be less secure than they think it is. There is always someone smarter than the chief of IT Security. For every hacker genius that gets caught there is at least one more that they do not even know exists.
i bet the win10 ship to the DOD is totally different than the consumer version....strip down and lock down no telemetry......now thats the one to get our hands on if only
It will probably only work with a monochrome display and have no sound support other than the motherboard ding. Would be perfect for some of our members. I would also strip out USB support so only the most basic keyboards and mice work. No support for any external storage devices.
That was exactly my first thought reading this... The one version has a backdoor, the other does not have a backdoor, but an exploit for it. I would have certainly arranged for that... if americans are intelligent enough, is another subject.
Are you talking about what you posted, it plays fine here That might be older model as this one was released just today. It's called Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter the price for the new one is $58, in video he says $69, might be older model? In video he calls it Microsoft Wireless Display Dongle, this is adapter.
I do not believe MS would even think of screwing with the US Government, if they did the Government would evoke National Security and confiscate MS , wouldn't that be something, the new Windows 10 brought to you by NSA, this is to funny to be real or is it?
I suspect that MS could send out a little packet over the internet that disables all Windows and Office products world wide in response to any attempts by any government to take control.
