Why do some posts require being logged in to read? Where are members assigning their post to require readers to be logged in (despite the content of the post really having nothing in it that has any reason to be hidden from non-members or members not logged in at the time)?
People should just become a member to read anything on MDL but afaik, only info in spoilers are not publicly viewable.
That's not it. I have a post with a link to 3D Sweet Home and it shows, link and all, even if not logged in.
It has always seemed to me that posts that led you away from MDL were hidden, but links merely sending you to another MDL post are not hidden.
Well that is clearly an external link. Unfortunately, Green does not have enough privileges to clarify that, need to escalate to Red. @Alphawaves @Tito
For reference, the 3D Sweet Home external link (that shows even if not logged in) is in the Chit Chat forum. Here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/side-hobbies.90603/ So perhaps there are different "permissions" for members versus non-members for "meat and potato" threads versus "fluff" threads.
That's what we try to clarify. Different settings per category or an oversight. The feature exists to hide DMCA ban-able content from the public, which is not that of an issue in Chit Chat.
