I noticed this as well. Maybe they (M$) are tired of playing with XP and pushing Windows 7. Having to deal with the likes of us with one less OS is less of a headache for them?:D

MCE Disk 1 is XP Pro SP2: Put this in when done with Disk 2.

ok, cheers, i ran the OEMBIOS backup, it seemed to run ok but gave me 3 errors? Are those errors important? Will it give me problems if i wanted to restore my original OEMBIOS?

And regarding the MSDN MCE 2005 CD image, those linke you have posted are the same ones i used to download. But when it installed it came back with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Version 2002 Service Pack 2? which is now Service Pack 3 as installed SP3 using Windows Update. Why is it showing Version 2002 and not Version 2005?

    Ok here is winver capture.JPG

But it seems odd that it has no reference to Windows XP MCE Version 2005?

You can see the reference in the about dialogue in the Media Center app itself... :)

BTW, winver is also showing normal :D
