Could you answer this for me also? And also how would i go about restoring my backed OEMBIOS at a later date? My system was bundled with XP Home OEM, so the bios coresponds to that, its a Medion and came with a particular partitioned hdd to be combined with using a factory restore CD. I dont think i ever used it and just decided to swap out the Hdd rather than mess with the partition. So the new hdd has the new install of XP MCE.
Hi, i came across this when trying to find a clean version of MCE 2005 OEM.my sisters computer was running slow and has a legit OEM copy of MCE 2005 on it, i tryed wipping it and putting a fresh install on but every version i download appears to be a retail copy and doesnt accept her code (including the dvd copy at the start of this thread). i'v read the thread regarding the OEMbios tool (and the thread that contains the tool) but it looks like it keeps changing and my sis will go nuts if she thinks it a dodgy copy lol. can anyone point me in direction of where to get a clean copy of OEM to download so that i can use her product key and give her the computer back. cheers
If using OEM MCE 2005 (Two CD or CD's Merged) you still need MCE OEM:SLP key along with OEMBIOS files.
Just an FYI.. the serial keys for all XP versions are in oembios changer in a file called "activation check and serial tools". Download the changer, open it, then open the folder and read the text file..these are the OEM serials and not the COA that is on the computer. The COA will not work with the new install.
DVD ISO image Hi all, would it be possible for anyone to upload the winxp mce 2005 iso dvd image again? I have checked the previous links and they are all dead and searched the web without luck. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, AdrianB
Ok. I know how to do the torrent downloading but i want to find out about a single direct download of the iso. I am using my android phone to download the single file then use a usb cable to transfer it to my hdd for burning from there. If you can help i would greatly appreciate it.
I have read this entire thread a couple times and still am completely lost. HELP? Here's my situation... I had Win XP MCE on a Gateway machine I bought back in '06. The hard drive recently pooped out, and of course I didn't create a restore disk, right? So, I downloaded Medic911's DVD version last night, burned it to disc and am trying to install it on a brand new drive. It won't take the serial number on the COA, as I read here that it won't, and I don't understand all this talk about OEM BIOS, SLP whatever... I have no comprehension what these terms mean much less how to do all the techy stuff to make it work. Can someone explain in plain english what I need to do to activate this copy? like... step 1, step 2...? I understand I may be asking a lot.

The OEMBIOS changer has the key you need, run the DMI boot cd to add the slp to DMI in the stickies. it will add the Hewlett-Packard slp to the dmi in your bios automatically. You then get the HP OEMBIOS file set from the archive and run the changer...done..
@ 911medic, why run HP DMI boot cd Stumped1 should have Gateway SLP 1.0 string already he should only need to run oembios changer to check SLP string then add the oembios files.
