Im looking for Windows 10 Build 9888 because I want to see if the kernel 10.0 change bring any problems to program compatibly. Thank you.
If you can understand Chinese, take a look! (Or use Google Chrome) www ithome com/html/win10/113790.htm
I second this, we really need to see a NT10.0 build before christmas. Please guys who have it deliver. If not on MDL then where?
you didn't understand MS's statements, no? There will not be any new build this year, period Early next year, the bazaar is gonna be open again for new stuff
The OP has a point... due to no explicit way to extrapolate edition within components other than build string (excluding WMI/registry), most devs use the build string... gonna be fun
you will have the chance to run such a new build but not this year. MS is slowing down activity at the end of the year as usual and so far new year certainly brings a couple of new iterations of W10 prior to RTM in fall
I guess you won't see as many compatibility issues as you'd expect. That's because older (and even current) software won't see the 10.0 version number in the first place. The GetVersion/GetVersionEx APIs - the common way for a program to determine versioning information about Windows - is deprecated since Windows 8.1. Beginning with Windows 8.1, it will always report itself as being Windows 8 (version 6.2). The only way to see the real version number is to embed a manifest in the executable. That's the new way: The developer has to explicitly declare that an application supports a specific version of Windows, otherwise your program won't recognize it is running on a version of Windows newer than the latest supported one.
I am aware there is not going to be any Build release till next year. But, I am talking about the Build 9888 with the Kernel version 10 just to see how it performs and functions with different applications.
Willing to bet he won't share anything. He probably has a hookup that will give him stuff as long as he doesn't leak the actual bits.
So?.. all apps are written in .Net? Even that GetVersion references build string, how can you target an edition - app.manifest GUID only redirects the framework component...
Mr.Paul, I understand very well here-is-your-two-cents statement but I am just trying to be in accordance with the original poster's comment. There is nothing wrong in it. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
absolutely. Zac will not share and we will have no 9888 ever since this is an internal build not intended for public eyes
