I know that Windows 8 build 7989 was uploaded on various web sites in 2011 after it has been leaked. Today, none of those links seem to work anymore. So, I am asking, does anyone still has a working download link or the original media he/she would be so kind to share here?

    Thanks in advance.

I would have to guess your best bet would be (if you have access to it) the BetaArchive FTP

Why anyone would want beta's of Win 8 U don't know ... then again Win 8.0 why anyone would even want the final ....

I want it because it is more like Windows 7 with just the good features from Windows 8. And I do not have acces to the BetaArchive FTP... And I think now it is impossible to access it at all with the new rules...

Build 7989 was in the good old days of leaking.
I have a copy somewhere and will upload to mega as soon as I find it.

Thank you too, just a question: you're downloading it from BetaArchive, right? Because I think there's no other place on Earth it may actually still be uploaded to...

I heared that one of them is 200 KB smaller than the other but yet it is still fully functional... They're both x64, so yeah, I do not really know too why there're 2 versions for real...

Already checked them, they've got no seeders... If you would be so kind to upload the file to Mega, I would be grateful...

Do you really believe that you are going to have a stable OS with an unfinished version...

Use 8.1 god damn it. It is the most stable one.

I just want to have a look at it... Windows 8.1 has so much bloat I don't really need... I just want to take a look, OK? I never said this will be my daily driver (although it could, who knows...?)

you are looking for an 8 beta version, meanwhile we read 2014 and use W8.1 with couple of updates (lol) and no bloat is on clean MSDN isos just to say

Ok, so what's the point? I am looking to using Windows 7, but I like some features from Windows 8 like universal keyboard layout switching, centered title bar text, the new file move/copy dialog and the new task manager. Other than that, in Windows 8, I hate that Aero is gone, the Start screen is an ugly piece of crap, Modern apps are plain useless, no ad-hoc networks interface, PC settings is also useless (although some settings are now moved only there), and the list can continue.

I just want to use Windows 7. I have already written myself an app in C# which can change the keyboard layout universally in Windows 7, but speaking of centering the title bar text of windows, I don't know how to do it, it seems like a limitation in DWM/theme engine (I know that a hack exists, but works only for Windows 7 Basic theme, not for Windows Aero), file move/copy I guess it is part of the new Explorer which is way too hard (yet not impossible to port), and the new task manager never run on Windows 7 (I know of DBC Taskman, but that is full of bugs...).

Hence, that's why I am looking for this build, but all the links are down, torrents are dead and BetaArchive is a closed community right now so I guess I just have to wait for some people to reupload it... Thanks to them in advance...
