Back in the day I had a scratched XP Home disk. The darn thing would install but every time the new OS would exhibit bizarre random errors and strange behavior. Back then I had no access to XP ISOs so I took the disk to a video rental store and paid them to resurface and buff out the scratches. It worked like a charm and I still have the disk but it was SP2. I've since found the SP3 ISO. Although I use Win 7, XP remains the speed demon of modern Windows OSs.
