Hi at all. I need your help. I have lost my password on windows 8-64.... I have tried to startup pc with f8 and shift-f8 to enter in safe mode, but don't function. What can i do ? Thanks at all.
On the Login Screen you will see an icon to shutdown, restart, etc. options on the right bottom corner, press "Shift" and click on the icon and then select "restart", you will get the recovery options. Select troubleshoot / Advanced option / Startup settings. Once you get into safe mode reset the password for your account. Hope this helps
Maybe this will resolve your problem :Turn on your computer but don't let Windows to fully charge...just until Windows Logo is appearing and force turn-off.Repeat this 2 times and do not forget to repeat push the F8 from your keyboard. After these your Windows will boot in safe mode. Then you must to choose advanced method recovery.... If these do not working you must to try connect to the Internet with other device and go to the Microsoft site and reset your password from there...Good luck.
I resolved my problems with that method! I had W8RTM installed in a machine laptop without see my monitor....I was blindly install W8 and this method was unique to get my computer run in safe-mode.Once my laptop in this state i can change screen driver to MS Basic Display so Windows can see my laptop monitor.. P.S Now the problem is reslolved due to BIOS upgrade but i swear this was my method...
You are getting the login screen right? On that screen itself you will find the icon on the right hand side bottom.
Dear Glavin, I am on the phone with my friend who just got a new computer using Windows 8. She was able to set up computer for the first-run, but did not make a recovery disk. Today when she went to use her computer it asked her for a password (which she did not set up). She tried to use the password linked to the email account she initially signed up with, but that didn't work either. Of all the answers I have searched for (because she obviously can't), yours came closest to actually getting her somewhere, so you seem to know what you are talking about. However, when she went to startup settings and chose safe mode, it asked her for a password again (which she doesn't know), so your advice to "get into safe mode reset the password for your account" was not detailed enough for her to get past that point, or we are missing something. Can you be more specific as to HOW to "reset" the password (if she doesn't know it) since we seem to be going in circles. She is ready to throw her new computer out the window. Thanks in advance for your help.
I would 2nd downloading DART8, it should be able to reset the Windows password and has many other features that can be use to recover a dying Windows 8. Ther should be a download link on this forum somewhere.
