I remember the discussions about it begore the PC era. There were endeless discussions between HP and TI fanboys. Personally I think that, no matter how good is a technique/layout/programming language/whatever, they become almost useless "by design" given "no one" uses them. So I don't mind to learn the Esperanto/DVORAK/RPN just because people use English/QWERTY/Infix notation.
HP RPN, on my 30th +/-, burn one out every couple of years. Only a few professions that do that. If you use a calculator, I do, RPN are by far the way to go. Excalibur is like notepad ++ to calculators. Regards
No is not. Is the way to go for people, like you, that learned them from the beginning and feels comfortable with it. Other people uses other tools and feels better with them, including people who still use the slide rules/slipsticks. They aren't any smarter or dumber than you, they just use the tool they like, the tool that makes them more efficient.
Not true, I have given people (old as well as young) a RPN calculator and they have learned it in a week and now would not go back to brackets for anything. It is all about how receptive you are about trying new things and learning and if you use it enough to care. Paint is not Photoshop and you can not be saying windows calculator is not a piece of sh!t. If you are only times Kg x 2.2 or KPa x 20.88543 then you do not need Photoshop. If you use a calculator heavily all I was saying is RPN is worth a try. I was not trying to point to anyone as being smarter or dumber than me just pointing out options. You appeared a little irritated and confrontational yesterday, hope all is well. Regards
What needs to be done is a world wide poll, asking everyone to try RPN, then we can see who is correct and give them the MDL award.
