    Actually if you want to recover your mac then you don't have the CD.. try to borrow or recover your mac through its recovery tool..

    Apparently not a long time mac user? You always have the option to do a fresh install, even with a upgrade disc. Double or option click in the installer. You can always hack the DVD and remove the upgrade check. GIYF!!
