I just used Magical Jellybean Finder to retrieve my Windows 7 and Office Professional 2010 keys... The found Windows 7 key does not match the sticker on the bottom of my Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5050 laptop (i can only read part of the key on the sticker but it's clearly different). And since I also need an installation disc for Office 2010 Professional, I went here: Office.com/downloadoffice and tried to use the found Office 2010 key to verify and download the installation media, but M$ threw an error stating that there was something wrong with my key. Can any of you smart people shed some light on this weirdness??
The sticker key is a COA key (certificate of Authenticity key), the key MJB finds is your Toshiba OEM: SLP key. All Toshiba have the same key for that edition of Win7. SLP OEM activation, one key ruled them all (per edition).
OK, so there's some hoops to jump through to get Windows 7 to be genuine again... For getting my Office 2010 Professional Plus back, I'm still in trouble. I'm now on Linux and I tried to download installation media again and the Jellybean found Office key isn't helping: This product key isn't valid. Double-check your product key and try again. Error code: ERR_INVALID_TOKEN Correlation ID: 290eb07e-390b-42b3-8580-6abfb6bcb431
I'm amazed that there are still exist people who do not know what the thing is Jellybean, and what it shows. This widget is from previous century. Remember, everything, that clitters, isn't yet gold.
